Known as Generative Artificial Intelligence, here is a list of some companies that are making a difference in the world of AI and AI Art. Some of these require the use of Discord.
Discord is an instant messaging and VoIP social platform that allows communication through voice calls, video calls, text messaging, and media. It is one we don’t tend to use or know too much about all the ins and outs. But sure that will change.
Many of these site were early adopters of Stable Diffusion, since then and in 2025 more large models have emerged. Some open source and other not so much.
The Debate
Job Loss:
Many feel that AI will take jobs away. With barely two years of working with Generative Artificial Intelligence tools both stand alone and with in other art programs, we think that to be totally not true. So fear not Artists, as for now your job and talent are safe.
AI Art is not Art:
It was said of illustration made from clip art. It was said with the introduction of photoshopping both chemical and digital photos used by mainstream magazines and advertisers. It was said of digital paint programs, creating illustration from start with digital paint tools. Because you can use your own original designs with all of these, including AI generators, we are on the side of “it is art”.
Copyrights and infringement:
Taking the works and ideas of others has a long history and not just with AI. Remember though, for artist, think about how you learned to do illustrations. Many may have had an instructor, many use teaching references from other artists of past and present. If you learn from such reference, you will tend to take on a style of those reference sources. Not to say that there are also many who develop their own styles and perhaps even such that it gets an official name in the art world. So to is true with AI tools which go through a learning or training process based on existing data that is in the public domain and often private domain.
One such are that is always up for discussion is “FAN Art”. The use of well establish arts from those who sold out to big corporate like Disney or have gone to work from them and may not fully own their own works or styles anymore. Some will know know names like MARVEL, DC Comics, PIXAR and other like CAPCOM and the massive world of ANIME artist and companies. Characters like Godzilla, Superman, Pokemon and thousands of others.
